Legislative Requirements

Legislation is in place to set a framework for how the Government and services should respond in developing support for people. Funding is linked to these Acts and some of the criteria by which service quality is evaluated relates to the principles and objectives of relevant legislation.

Some of the legislative guidelines Real Community Services works to are;

  • QLD Disability Services Act (2006)
  • QLD Disability Services Regulations (2006)
  • QLD Disability Services Standards
  • QLD Child Protection Act (1999)
  • QLD Child Protection Regulations (2000)
  • QLD Child Safety Service Standards
  • QLD Anti Discrimination Act

More specific Acts, Policies and Procedures are adhered to on a case by case basis depending on the service that staff are placed with at any time.

Regular feedback from staff and services is an important way of measuring our effectiveness. We are acutely aware that providing a staff member is an important task and that the clients should be achieving higher outcomes as a result of our involvement. Intrinsic to this understanding is that our recruitment process includes a thorough interview and screening with only experienced staff.

All staff undergo the necessary criminal history checks relative the legislation services are governed by. Our recruitment consultants have an acute understanding of what is required by each service by remaining actively involved in the booking process on a daily basis.
